Hoda Kotb is the latest TV personality to test positive for COVID-19 in a breakthrough case.
“Today Show” anchor Craig Melvin shared his colleague’s diagnosis with NBC viewers on Thursday, saying, “The reason Hoda is off, like many others, she tested positive for COVID.” Kotb had received both her COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots, according to NBC.
“Hoda tells us that she’s doing just fine, and we look forward to having her back very soon,” Melvin said.

The 57-year-old “Today” host is the latest public figure to announce a positive COVID-19 test amid the surge of the omicron variant across the country. In the last week, several TV presenters and performers — including “The View’s” Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin, “The Tonight Show’s” Jimmy Fallon and “Late Night” host Seth Meyers, all said they tested positive for COVID-19.
Several of them credited vaccinations and booster shots for experiencing mild symptoms. Meyers tweeted this week that “the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!)”
