Bidens welcome new cat Willow to the White House
The Bidens have welcomed a new cat named Willow to the White House, as was announced by first lady Jill Biden on her Instagram account early Friday morning.
A White House spokesperson told The Hill that the Bidens’ new furry friend is from a farm in Willow Grove, Pa., just north of Philadelphia.
Willow has green eyes, is gray and white in color, and is about two years old.
Biden had grown fond of the cat after it jumped on stage and interrupted her speaking during a campaign stop in 2020, causing an immediate bond between the two, according to the White House spokesperson.
The farm owner saw how well the pair got along and “knew that Willow belonged with Dr. Biden,” said the spokesperson, noting that the short-haired tabby cat is settling in very well with her favorite toys and treats and lots of new rooms to sniff and explore.
