{mosads}The hero of “Braveheart,” Scottish rebel William Wallace (played by Mel Gibson), dies at the end of the movie. 

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) also dismissed comparisons between the Republicans in the payroll tax cut battle and the Scottish rebels facing impossible odds in the movie. 

“They’re comparing themselves to ‘Braveheart’ where in fact it’s the American people who are going to have to withstand what House Republicans are doing to them,” he said on MSNBC on Tuesday. “If the Speaker of the House were truly brave, he would be taking on the Tea Party extremists in his own caucus.”
