The White House is going pink. At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the White House will be bathed in pink light as President Obama honors National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
White House spokesman Bill Burton tweeted the news Thursday morning:
At 6:30, the White House will be lit pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
The world's largest breast cancer non-profit, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, has also planned a series of events in Washington this weekend. Representatives from the group will meet with White House officials on Friday, and a star-studded concert and fundraiser will be held Saturday night at the Kennedy Center and feature performances by Aretha Franklin and Olivia Newton-John.
