To commemorate Veterans Day, Rep. Chris Lee (R-N.Y.) and his staff got creative on Facebook.
The congressman tweeted Thursday morning encouraging his constituents to visit his profile and talk about the veterans they know.
"Please join me in honoring those who have served and those currently serving our great nation as we recognize Veterans Day," he wrote in a post. "Please share the name of a veteran close to you in the comment section and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Thank you to all our nation’s veterans for your bravery and dedication to our country."
Hours later, the post had 15 responses, with many noting soliders who have passed away.
One read, "U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Dill, killed in action April 4, 2005 in Balad Ruz, Iraq. Chris graduated from Kenmore East High School in 1990, and also served as a Buffalo firefighter. RIP to my friend Chris, and to all those who served, thank you."
