Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) is trying to bring his state's delegation together with a little competition.

The event is "hot dish," which Wikipedia defines as a "variety of baked casserole that typically contains a starch, a meat or other protein, and a canned and/or frozen vegetable, mixed together with canned soup."

According to a news release, the offices of Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D) and Reps. Tim Walz (D), Betty McCollum (D), Keith Ellison (D) and Michele Bachmann (R) will all submit their own recipes on Wednesday as a way to "celebrate Minnesota before tackling the issues facing the state."

Franken announced the competition on Twitter and also solicited recipes from followers:

"Think you can compete with the #MN delegation? Tweet your favorite #hotdish recipe with the #hotdish hashtag!"
