On Wednesday night in an interview with Current TV, Axelrod described Trump as a making "a fool out of himself" this week on a west coast fundraising tour with Mitt Romney. 

Thursday, Trump tweeted his opinion of Axelrod, writing that he is "on a fool's errand" stumping for Obama's campaign. The tweet was likely a response to a press event in Boston earlier in the day where Axelrod was forced to shout over pro-Romney protesters.
