Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is at it again.

The gregarious socialist leader compared Twitter to terrorism, tech blog BoingBoing reported Thursday:

After finding himself on the receiving end of widespread criticism and unfriendly hashtags on Twitter, Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has announced that he now considers Twitter messages and social networking as terrorist threats. Chavez responded to messages on Twitter that he believes could undermine his regime. Some users have used the hashtag, a term that denotes topics on Twitter, named #freevenezuela to rail against Chavez's authoritarian rule.
