• Venn Strategies hired Elizabeth Brooks as a vice president. Previously, she worked in SCAN Health Plan’s Washington office and as the deputy director of federal affairs for America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), where she helped lobby on healthcare reform. Natascha Cumberlidge and T.J. Garrigan also joined Venn Strategies, each as a senior associate. Cumberlidge was a senior legislative assistant and health policy aide to Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.). Garrigan previously served as an aide to Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), where he worked on health, education and Social Security policy issues.

• Vanderbilt University hired Gabriella Ra’anan for its internal lobbying operation, according to LegiStorm. She serves as the assistant director of federal relations for the university. Before that, she worked as an aide to two House subcommittees on science and the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

{mosads}• Monument Policy Group named Mark Dennin as an associate at the firm, where he will work on energy and financial services policy. Before that, he was an intern at the Center for American Progress and worked on energy and environmental issues.

• Cornerstone Government Affairs hired retired Col. John Leggieri as a vice president to expand the firm’s defense practice. Leggieri spent 30 years in the military and most recently served as the chief of the Army’s Congressional Budget Liaison Office, a role that put him as the chief adviser to Army leadership on appropriations issues. 

• Linda Jordan Willard has been named a senior policy adviser and counsel at TCH Group. In addition to working on energy issues at Sullivan and Worcester, she also held roles on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and worked for former Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas). 

• Mark Meissner left Holland & Knight to help R&R Partners grow its Washington office. He serves as a senior director of strategic communications at the firm, known for creating the “What happens here, stays here” campaign for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. He has worked for former Rep. Tim Roemer (D-Ind.) and former Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.). He ran for Congress in 2002 as a Democratic candidate in Indiana.
