Ex-Obama administration healthcare official joins lobby firm

Fontenot recently left the Department of Health and Human Services, where she was deputy director of the Office of Health Reform. She also worked as senior policy director in the White House Office of Health Reform, where she helped to implement the Affordable Care Act.

Avenue Solutions is a growing lobby firm, having earned $3.2 million in lobbying fees last year, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Lobbying disclosure records show that the firm represented major healthcare interests, like Aetna, Express Scripts and UnitedHealth Group, in 2012.
