Pro-Clinton PAC donor database was publicly visible online

The website of a Pro-Hillary Clinton super-PAC left private donor information open for public view, a security researcher reported Wednesday.

{mosads}The exposed database contained contact information for 959 Balance of Power PAC donors alongside their donation quantities. MacKeeper researcher Chris Vickery discovered the database on a web-accessible Amazon cloud server “bucket” not configured for security.

Motherboard reported that a representative from Balance of Power claimed the problem stemmed from a former vendor.

“The data should have been deleted by now from their servers. We were not aware that they had not taken down the data,” Sam Deskin of Balance of Power PAC told Motherboard.

The discovery was the second big announcement on Wednesday for Vickery, who also announced another political find that morning – the Donald Trump campaign had failed to secure many records in its cloud account, including the resumes of would-be interns who applied for posts.
