Cuba lobbying


About 60 activists from 12 states are meeting on Capitol Hill on Wednesday morning before they start a planned lobbying blitz of lawmakers. The activists want legislation that will repeal the travel ban for all Americans to their island neighbor off Florida’s coast.

One of the bill’s sponsors, Rep. Bill Delahunt (D-Mass.), is expected to speak to the group. In addition, Rep. Organized by the Latin American Working Group and the Washington Office on Latin America, the lobbying push will also be assisted by a call-in effort at the same time advocating for the travel ban’s repeal.
