Lobby firm Heather Podesta + Partners rebrands

Heather Podesta’s powerhouse lobbying firm is being rebranded as Invariant.

Her firm, formerly known as Heather Podesta + Partners, started out a decade ago with only Podesta and one other person. By the end of its first year, the firm boasted a roster of six lobbyists and revenue of $2.6 million.

Podesta, a prominent figure in Democratic circles, has expended the firm in recent years to make it bipartisan. The office now has 16 staffers and roughly a dozen lobbyists.

“Now in our 10th year, this firm is so much bigger than just me,” Podesta said in a statement. “We need a name that captures our team’s commitment to clients. The more Washington changes, the more our clients need us to be constant. Dependable. Invariant.”

In 2016, the firm netted more than $9.8 million in lobbying fees, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Its clients include the American Beverage Association, the health insurance company Cigna Corp., the industry group News Media Alliance, Fitbit, Red Bull, Prudential Financial, Herbalife, the National Cannabis Industry Association and Home Depot.
