Ex-GOP lawmaker joins Florida lobbying firm

Former Rep. Ross will serve as of-counsel in the firm’s Lakeland office, GrayRobinson announced on Monday. GrayRobinson just acquired Washington-based lobbying firm Eris Group. Ex-Rep. Bill McCollum’s (R-Fla.) former chief of staff, Doyle Bartlett, is a lobbyist there. 


“Ensuring a strong, growth-oriented vision for Florida’s future has been at the forefront of every decision that I make, and cornerstone to my choice to join GrayRobinson at this critical time,” Ross said in a press release. “I look forward to being a part of the team that is making such a tremendous impact for Floridians.”

Ross was first elected in 2011. He served on the House Financial Services Committee. 

Ross will focus on practicing law and advising clients on legal, policy and economic development issues. He will also work with the state and federal lobbying teams until he can lobby himself in 2020. 

Before Congress, Ross worked as an associate at Holland & Knight, was the in-house counsel to Walt Disney World and had his own law firm, Ross Vecchio.
