Jack Abramoff targets Dems as part of new super PAC

Former lobbyist Jack Abramoff is attacking Democrats as part of a new conservative super PAC, E&E News reported Tuesday.

Abramoff, who pleaded guilty in 2006 to various corruption charges, said in a fundraising email Monday that "Democrats have no interest in serving the American people."

Abramoff is listed in the email as the PAC's "honorary chairman."

"These socialists are so confused, and their messaging is getting worse by the minute. They seem to think that cows and airplanes are a threat to our future," he added. "Sounds to me like they have been infected by Mad Cow Disease!"

Abramoff was jailed for several years after pleading guilty in 2006 to fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy to bribe public officials. The charges stemmed in part from Abramoff overbilling Native American tribes he had as clients.
