Katharine Emerson, former director of public policy and political strategy at the National Corn Growers Association, is leaving to be director of political affairs at Bayer. She was previously the director of strategic partnerships at the World Food Program USA and manager of government affairs at Monsanto Company.


The District Policy Group, the government affairs group in the law firm Drinker Biddle & Reath, announced the addition of Jennifer Taylor McBride as special adviser and Ian Rockwell as government relations manager. McBride was previously an account representative at Soapbox Consulting and Rockwell was previously a legislative correspondent to Sen. The Retail Industry Leaders Association hired Michael Hanson as senior executive vice president for public affairs. He previously was chief public policy officer at the travel technology company Sabre and before that vice president of government affairs at JCPenney.


Business Roundtable (BRT) named Donald McIntosh and Katie Sarro policy directors. McIntosh was chief of staff and chief counsel to the commissioner of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Sarro was a senior policy director at the Council on Competitiveness. Rayna Farrell, a senior director at BRT, was promoted to vice president of communications and Scott Farnham, a manager at BRT, was promoted to policy director.
