• Kimberly Reindl has been hired as a senior counsel at the Washington
office of Perkins Coie. She focuses her practice on helping new media
clients comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) policies
and regulations. Reindl comes from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld,
where she served as a senior counsel and previously worked as the
transaction team in the FCC’s Office of General Counsel. Reindl
reviewed high-profile mergers and bankruptcies before the commission.

• The firm Lobbyit.com has partnered with Salsa Labs to create an “online advocacy platform” called Tier 4, which aims to connect the firm’s clients with elected officials and give them tools to track legislation in all 50 states, among other features. Lobbyit.com has also hired Keith B. Nelson, the former head of the Department of Justice’s Office of Legislative Affairs, to become its new executive vice president.

{mosads}• Lori Reilly, a 13-year veteran of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), has been promoted to executive vice president of policy and research. She will begin that role on June 7 and oversee the trade group’s policy development and regulations affecting the biopharmaceutical research sector. She previously worked as the vice president of policy and research for the group.

• The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has named Steven M. Marks its chief of digital business and general counsel, a brand new position for the trade group. Before that, he served as the RIAA’s executive vice president and general counsel. The organization says Marks will direct the industry in growing its digital marketplace and finding new sources of revenue. Prior to working at RIAA, he worked at the Washington office of Arnold & Porter.

• Steven Richardson has become a partner at Wiley Rein within the firm’s environment and safety practice in Washington. He specializes in policy and regulatory issues surrounding water, wetlands, hydroelectric, land, energy and environmental law. Before coming to the firm, he was a partner at Van Ness Feldman’s Washington office. From 1993 to 2000, Richardson worked as an adviser to former Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt.
