President Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, is joining forces with the Washington law and lobby firm Squire Patton Boggs, the firm said in an announcement on Monday.

Cohen — who owns his own firm, Michael D. Cohen & Associates — will work out of Squire Patton Boggs’s New York, London and Washington, D.C., offices and collaborate with the law and lobby firm but will remain an independent business entity.

“The strategic alliance will enable the two firms to work together to advance the interests of their clients as Squire Patton Boggs continues building upon its preeminent global public policy offering,” the announcement says.

Cohen has just been named as a key finance executive at the Republican National Committee, responsible for helping the organization with fundraising efforts.

“Clients worldwide increasingly confront challenges and look to seize business opportunities that intersect with governments worldwide,” said Mark Ruehlmann, chair and global CEO of Squire Patton Boggs, in a statement.

“We look forward to offering our clients the cutting-edge benefits of our strategic alliance between Michael and our best-in-class global public policy practice.
