Former Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) has joined Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer as a senior counsel. Dodd left the Motion Picture Association of America last September after serving as its CEO since 2011. Prior to that, he served five terms in the Senate and three terms in the House.

Squire Patton Boggs brought on Angela Freyre, a former senior vice president and general counsel of the Export-Import Bank, to work in its financial services practice. She served in President Obama’s White House as a special adviser for Cuba policy on the National Security Council. In the private sector, Freyre was a top lawyer at The Nielsen Company.

PG&E’s top lobbyist, Melissa Lavinson, is leaving the company after two decades. She’ll begin her new job as the senior vice president of government relations and external affairs at Pepco Holdings on Monday.

Darrell Kirch, the president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), announced he will be stepping down in June 2019. In the meantime, the industry group will be on a nationwide search to find its next leader. Kirch has been the AAMC’s president since 2006.

McGuireWoods Consulting has tapped Tucker Martin — the former communications director and senior strategist for America Leads, the super PAC that supported former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s (R) presidential bid — to work in its lobbying arm, known as MWCAdvocacy.

Former Rep. Bob Dold (R-Ill.) is heading to Forbes Tate Partners to work in its strategic communications and public affairs practice. He served in Congress from 2011 to 2016, and sat on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Financial Services Committee. 

Republican operative John Dunagan is founding his own firm, the Highland Advocacy Group. Prior to that, he served as a senior vice president at Vox Global, worked at firms DDC Advocacy and Mercury and served on President George W. Bush’s reelection campaign.

Chris Rosello, a former Treasury Department official, has left Wells Fargo to be the U.S. head of public affairs for HSBC USA, leading its government relations efforts.
