The National Electrical Contractors Association promoted Marco Giamberardino to vice president of government and public affairs. He was previously the executive director of government affairs, a post which Jessica Cardenas will now fill. Also, managers James Farrell and Trevor Falk were promoted to directors of government affairs. 


Cara Duckworth announced on Twitter that Friday was her last day at the Recording Industry Association of America. Duckworth did not say where she was going. She was senior vice president of communications for over a year and before that was vice president of communications for 12 years.

John Elwood joined Arnold & Porter as a partner leading its appellate and Supreme Court practice. He was preciously at Vinson & Elkins and is a former assistant to the U.S. solicitor general.


The BNSF Railway Company, a freight railroad network, named Mike Smythers its new vice president of federal government affairs. He has been with BNSF since 2006 as assistant vice president of federal government affairs. He replaced Amy Hawkins, who will retire in August and has worked at BNSF since 2001.
