Lowenstein Sandler announced that partner Zarema A. Jaramillo will be the head of the Washington, D.C., office, effective Jan. 1. She is currently a partner in the antitrust and trade regulation practice and replaces Jeff Blumenfeld, who has led the D.C. office for five years.

Glen Caplin, senior adviser to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), will be senior vice president of communications at the Madison Square Garden Company. He also worked on Gillibrand’s 2020 presidential campaign as a senior adviser and was senior national spokesperson for Hillary for America in 2016.


Greg Macias, chief strategy and impact office at SAGE, which provides advocacy and services for LGBT elders, is now vice president of programs and strategy at Western Resource Advocates.

David S. Slovick joined Barnes & Thornburg’s D.C. office as a partner in the firm’s litigation department. He previously was counsel at Cahill Gordon & Reindel in New York and before that was a senior attorney at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Alston & Bird named Richard Slowinski an international tax partner in the D.C. office. He previously worked at Baker McKenzie for over 28 years.
