Gov. Haley Barbour’s waistline suggests he will run in 2012
Asked earlier this year about a possible challenge to President Barack Obama in 2012, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) told reporters, “If you see me losing 40 pounds, that means I’m either running or have cancer.”
And while he may not have lost that much weight quite yet, the tanned and trimmer Barbour was looking good during a visit to Washington last week.
{mosads}The Republican Governors Association (RGA) chairman held back-to-back fundraisers in Glover Park on Thursday night wearing black pants and a navy blue polo shirt, prompting a number of guests to remark that this was the slimmest they’d seen him.
An RGA spokesman declined to comment on any weight loss and its possible implications.
