Pelosi shares chocolate mousse recipe

Nancy Pelosi and her family will enjoy this chocolate mousse after their turkey and stuffing dinner.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her family will enjoy chocolate mousse after their turkey-and-stuffing dinner this year. The mousse recipe, a family favorite for the Thanksgiving holiday, is made with dark chocolate. The dark chocolate, the recipe claims, is delicious and good for you too.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is looking forward to the recipe for his mothers turkey brine. Unfortunately, as with Bushs baked beans, the recipe is kept under wraps.

Below is the Pelosi familys dark chocolate mousse recipe:

Chocolate Mousse
Quick, easy and good for you too!

  • 1 pound good-quality dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 8 ounces unsalted butter, also in pieces
  • 8 eggs, separated (toss yolks, or save for another purpose)
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

In a double boiler, melt chocolate slowly, careful not to boil.

Remove from heat and stir in butter until smooth.

Set aside and let cool for 15 minutes.

In separate bowl, beat egg whites and sugar until soft peaks form.

Carefully fold egg mixture into chocolate mixture.

In another bowl, beat cream until stiff, and then add to mixture.

Put in individual cups or glasses, or keep in one large bowl.

Chill for at least two hours.
