No, Clark Kent, Superman’s most well known alter ego, is not gay — in fact, the creators are reportedly killing him off and replacing him with his biological son, Jonathan Kent or Superboy, by Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane.

“I just found out, I got a little bit of a scoop about what DC’s plans are. Nobody knows this, yet. It hasn’t really been announced, except by me,” former DC Comics artist Ethan Van Sciver said on his popular YouTube show. “The plan is that,Superman’s book, I guess Clark Kent is going bye-bye.”

Van Sciver a comic book insider and independent creator of Cyberfrog, has come under fire for his use of alt-right and Nazi imagery, which he claimed was in jest, according to one blogOn his show, the artist speculated that the move was intended to make the comic more marketable and relevant, saying that the families of Superman’s creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, “desperately” would like the franchise comic to turn a profit for them.

“D≈d [sic] over,” said Van Sciver. “I mean Superman has made billions and billions and billions of dollars in revenue and those two boys who made up Superman got ‘bupkis,’ they were Jewish, so they got ‘bupkis,’ they got nothing.”

Superman: Son of Kal El” is a coming-of-age story of Jon, who is destined to replace his father in the event Clark could no longer be Superman.

“Clark Kent, I guess, is going bye-bye and they are going to replace him with Jonathan Kent, and then they are going to announce that Jonathan Kent is gay,” he said. “So Superman is effectively gay, everyone. He is gay.”

Jonathan would join the ranks of LGBTQ+ superheroes, including, Robin, specifically Tim Drake, Batman’s third sidekick, who recently came out as bisexual.
