Celine Dion cancels North American tour due to recent health issues

Celine Dion canceled her North American tour on Saturday due to recent “health issues.”  

“I was really hoping I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen my doctors are prescribing,” Dion announced on Twitter. 

Dion’s “Courage World Tour” was put on pause in March 2020, after she performed 52 shows, as the coronavirus pandemic began. Prior to the cancellation, this leg of the tour had been scheduled to resume on March 9, 2022, in Denver.

According to her Twitter post, Dion, 54, recently underwent treatment for “severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing, and her recovery is taking longer than she hoped.” 

People who purchased tickets to the canceled North American tour will be fully refunded. 

While the North American tour has been canceled, the European leg is still on, with Dion expected to kick off the tour on May 25, 2022, in Birmingham, England.
