“Creating the city of Starbase, Texas,” Musk tweeted Tuesday.

“From thence to Mars, And hence the Stars,” he added, noting that the city would be “An area much larger than Boca Chica.”

In a statement Tuesday, Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino said county officials were approached by SpaceX regarding Musk’s interest to incorporate Boca Chica into the “City of Starbase.”

“If SpaceX and Elon Musk would like to pursue down this path, they must abide by all state incorporation statutes. Cameron County will process any appropriate petitions in conformity with applicable law,” Trevino said

“Sending a tweet doesn’t make it so,” Trevino told Bloomberg in an interview. “They have a lot of hoops and hurdles to go through before they can make it so.”

In addition to SpaceX’s ambitions in Boca Chica, the private rocket company is planning to break ground on a new facility in Austin as part of its Starlink satellite internet service.

Musk himself has also moved to Texas from California and his electric-car company Tesla is building a large factory in Austin for  its upcoming Cyber Truck.

This comes as Musk tweeted that the latest attempt to launch and land the Starship spacecraft will go forward on Wednesday. SpaceX is aiming to launch the Starship SN10 and achieve a landing after flying to a high altitude. Similar tests of previous prototypes ended in fiery explosions.
