A new nationwide data analysis has found that Wisconsin is the drunkest state in America.

24/7 Wall St came to the conclusion by analyzing data from County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, a combined effort between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. County Health Rankings & Roadmaps surveyed counties for statistics on binge-drinking and driving deaths involving alcohol.

Data showed that 82 percent of the top 50 drunkest counties in the United States were located in Wisconsin, as well as the drunkest county in all of the U.S. 

Outagamie County was found to be the drunkest county, with 31 percent of adults reporting drinking excessively and 32 percent of driving deaths involving alcohol.

Binge drinking is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as when “men consume 5 or more drinks or women consume 4 or more drinks in about 2 hours.” Although the CDC does cite that most people who binge drink don’t suffer from an alcohol abuse disorder.
