Employees will now no longer be required to work on the holiday. The move is not expected to have a significant negative impact on Target’s sales, with online purchasing still available.

According to the National Retail Federation, holiday sales for November and December 2020 rose 8.2 percent from the previous year, and sales are expected to further rise between 8.5 and 10.5 percent for the two months in 2021.

Most Target stores will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday.
