The NFL has released a new video that declares “football is gay” during Pride Month.

The video comes a week after Las Vegas Raiders player Carl Nassib came out as gay on social media. Nassib’s announcement made him the first active NFL player to do so.

In the NFL’s new video, white text crosses the screen, reading, “Football is gay. Football is lesbian. Football is beautiful. Football is queer. Football is life. Football is exciting. Football is culture. Football is transgender. Football is heart. Football is power. Football is tough. Football is bisexual. Football is strong. Football is freedom. Football is American. Football is accepting. Football is everything. Football is for everyone.”

The video then promotes The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization that works toward crisis intervention and the suicide prevention of LGBTQ+ youth.

“LGBTQ+ youth with at least one accepting adult have 40% lower risk of attempting suicide,” the video reads near the end.

“If you love this game, you are welcome here. Football is for all. Football is for everyone,” the NFL tweeted. “The NFL stands by the LGBTQ+ community today and every day.”
