The 2021 Canadian federal election will take place on Sept. 20, and the race is seemingly a close tie between two candidates and a very close third candidate, incumbent Trudeau, Jagmeet Singh of the New Democratic Party, and Erin O'Toole of the Conservative Party.

All three candidates were campaigning in Ontario, but only Trudeau was reportedly confronted by rocks by "anti-vaxxers" — people opposed to vaccines — Global News reported.

“This is disgusting and I condemn these actions in the strongest terms possible,” O’Toole tweeted. “Political violence is never justified and our media must be free from intimidation, harassment, and violence.”

Trudeau and company were not harmed by the rocks, CBC reported. However, the angry crowd is a reflection of how some feel about COVID-19 vaccines and other pandemic restrictions, according to The Washington Post

The London Free Press estimates that 100 protesters were in attendance.

According to Reuters, there are two debates scheduled next week — one in French and one in English — that will help shape their TV perceptions before the masses vote. In a survey of 1,200 people from Nanos Research for CTV on Monday, the Liberals were at 34.1 percent while Conservatives were at 32 percent; previously, the Liberals were at 33.4 percent compared to 34.9 percent for Conservatives.
