Surveillance video from the home of a California man who was evacuated due to the Caldor Fire revealed a surprise guest milling about his premises at Tahoe Keys.

Michael Doyle told KCRA-3 that he received a cell phone alert on Monday notifying him that his surveillance camera picked up movement at his home — the opportunistic trespasser turned out to be a small bear.

The video shows a bear casually strolling through the backyard and picking through potted plants before meandering up a small spiral staircase onto an elevated deck. After a few moments on the deck, swatting at a rain barrel, the bear left the way it came.

Doyle told the station he doesn’t believe the intruder made it inside, but he could not be sure until he assesses the damage.

"It's definitely time for us to go home," Doyle said.
