Parts of East Coast experiencing first blizzard warnings in four years

Areas across the East Coast are seeing their first blizzard warnings in four years entering this weekend.   

According to NBC News, the East Coast is under winter weather alerts from South Carolina through New England, with blizzard warnings from Virginia through Maine.

A cold front beginning Friday is bringing snow and hurricane-force winds, with New York and Boston to experience the brunt of it on Saturday. New York could see as much as a foot of snow, while southeast Massachusetts may see as much as 2 to 3 feet.   

The intense weather is already impacting travel, with more than 1,800 Saturday flights within the United States already canceled by mid-Friday.
