China is building a large quarantine camp capable of housing thousands of people as new clusters of cases have emerged in and around the capital city of Beijing over the last few weeks.

While China has largely brought the virus under control as the rest of the world struggles with increasing cases, deaths and hospitalizations, a sudden rise of infections in the province of Hebei that surrounds Beijing has prompted mass testing, strict lockdowns and the moving of entire villages into quarantine facilities to stave off a resurgence of the virus.
