After his company’s successful three-day space mission, Elon Musk pledged $50 million for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, helping the organization reach its $200 million fundraising goal.

“Count me in for $50M,” Musk tweeted.

Fellow billionaire tech entrepreneur Jared Isaacman also donated $100 million to the cause.

The public donated $60 million, bringing in a total of about $210 million for cancer research for children.

The flight’s medical officer and a physician assistant at St. Jude’s Hayley Arceneaux, who also happens to be a childhood cancer survivor, said she was brought to tears by the generous donors.

On Wednesday at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Inspiration4’s mission took off atop a SpaceX ​Falcon 9 missile.

Isaacman, Arceneaux, fellow members Sian Proctor (a geologist) and Chris Sembroski (a Lockheed Martin employee) flew inside the Dragon Capsule for three days and reached an altitude of 367 miles, according to CBSThis was the first all-civilian crew to fly.
