Anheuser-Busch is giving away beer to promote President Biden’s goal of 70 percent of adults being partially vaccinated by Independence Day.
Since late April, the rate of people getting fully vaccinated has been in decline, presenting a challenge to businesses who want to return to normalcy.

For Anheuser-Busch, however, the company does not want business as usual; it wants a better experience between its retailers and event partners and its consumers.
The company, in its own words, is “doubling down on its pledge to use its unique capabilities and deep connection to consumers to lead a strong and safe recovery by encouraging consumers to get vaccinated,” by giving away its products, which include Budweiser, Busch, Michelob, Bud Light and Natural Light.
“The point here is to drive awareness and to educate to people about the importance of vaccination and how it is one element of how we recover this pandemic,” Chief External Affairs Officer César Vargas told Changing America why the company decision to team up with the Biden administration.
Anheuser-Busch is working with Biden and Democrats; but the company is also willing to team up with Republican leaders as well.
“This is not political,” Vargas said. This is about an opportunity we have as the leading beer and beverage company in America to do something that could accelerate our recovery,” Vargas said.
“Beer is bipartisan,” he added.

As Changing America previously reported, throughout cities, there are a handful of bars throughout the country doing something similar — encouraging the safe return by rewarding their vaccinated customers. This new pledge is an update of an ongoing Anheuser-Busch campaign, “Let’s Grab A Beer.”
The company has been keen on promoting what it calls a common-sense approach to socializing responsibly. Likewise, it encourages its retail and venue partners to keep their work areas clean and spacious and enforce mask policy.
“For us, everything begins and ends with people, and consumers are at the center of everything we do,” said Marcel Marcondes, CMO, Anheuser-Busch. “Since last March, we’ve been focused on pivoting all our plans in order to ensure that our brands remained relevant and meaningful, through tangible actions. And now that we are at this pivotal moment where people are excited to be together again, it only makes sense that we would unite our full portfolio and take this action to encourage people to get vaccinated. There’s never been a better time to be able to say, ‘let’s grab a beer.’”
