U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday slammed so-called “vaccine Nazis” before revealing she is not vaccinated against COVID-19.

“They’re ruining our country, these vaccine Nazis,” Greene told Steve Bannon on the former White House strategist’s podcast, according to NBC

“I’m sorry. I know I’m using the word Nazi and everybody gets mad when I say it, but that’s exactly what they are,” she added.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published new findings last week that suggest vaccines are the most effective protection against the virus.

The data in the study “demonstrate that vaccination can provide a higher, more robust, and more consistent level of immunity to protect people from hospitalization for COVID-19 than infection alone for at least 6 months.”

Greene apologized in May after receiving bipartisan criticism for comparing mask policies to the Holocaust and visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The first term representative said after her tour that “there’s no comparison to the Holocaust.”

“And there are words that I have said, remarks that I have made, that I know are offensive, and for that, I want to apologize,” she said.

Greene, who has been cited numerous times for violating House floor mask policies, previously remained silent on her vaccination status. She proceeded to tell Bannon that she is not vaccinated because she is an American and it’s her choice.

“I can choose what I want to do with my body. I have the freedom to decide if I want to get a vaccine or not get a vaccine. I do not care who tells me to get one,” Greene continued.

“I am a member of Congress and guess what, no one is firing me for not being vaccinated but all of these amazing first responders … are being fired,” she said. “I am so done with it.”
