Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., has hit a record number of COVID-19 patients.

The hospital told NBC Washington on Tuesday that it was treating 53 children with COVID-19.

A spokesperson told the outlet that half of the children are younger the age of 5, making them ineligible for a coronavirus vaccination. More than 90 percent of the patients were experiencing symptoms.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 3.8 million new coronavirus cases in the U.S. over the last seven days.
