From Volume to Value: Designing a Patient-Centered Healthcare System

Changing consumer demand, emerging technologies and provisions in the Affordable Care Act are pushing America’s healthcare system to put patients at the center of their own care.

On Tuesday, February 2, The Hill held a live discussion with the policymakers, regulators, and experts leading the transformation from volume-based to value-based care. We explored public-private collaboration, attempts to define and demonstrate patient-focused and –informed quality care, and how enhanced coordination could transform care for patients suffering from chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease.
