Trump campaign spokesperson: Biden embracing 'Bernie Sanders agenda'

The comments come after Biden handily won three contests against the Vermont senator in Arizona, Illinois and Florida, on Tuesday, edging his way toward the Democratic nomination. Biden is over 300 delegates ahead of Sanders, the only other viable candidate in the race.

“Sanders, AOC wing of the Democratic party was dictating the issues so that’s what we see,” Murtaugh said, referring to the Sunday night Democratic debate. “...Biden has had to move so far to the Left.”

Murtaugh claimed that Biden said he would completely halt deportations for his 100 days in office and only deport immigrants convicted of felonies thereafter.

The party's left wing has often criticized Biden for the immigration policies of the Obama administration, which saw a record number of deportations.

Perhaps the most defining distinction between Biden and Sanders is their stances on healthcare. Biden is not a proponent of "Medicare for All", a central health care policy for Sanders and his supporters.

Murtaugh also claimed that Biden is embracing the Green New Deal, which he did mention during the Sunday night debate in Washington, D.C., but his plan to fund it falls under $10 trillion from what Rep.
