The Intercept’s D.C. bureau chief, Ryan Grim, discussed podcast host’s Joe Rogan’s appeal during an interview Tuesday with Hill.TV’s “Rising."

“A lot of the mainstream outlets don't quite understand what people are looking for. You can even put content aside, format is interesting. Major media figures don't think that viewers have an appetite for more than a 3-minute segments on say MSNBC or CNN,” Grim said.

“What Rogan and a lot of other podcasts show is that you can actually go for several hours, going deep into a particular issue, and people will not just stick around for it they will share it and they will come back for more,” he added.

Rogan announced last week that his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” will move exclusively to Spotify starting in September.
