Reporter Gabby Orr says Trump's electoral map is shrinking
Politico reporter Gabby Orr told Hill.TV this week that President Trump's electoral map is shrinking, prompting him to change his campaign rhetoric as he loses ground in some battleground states.
"[The Trump campaign is] running ads in Atlanta right now, and if you're running ads in Georgia as an incumbent Republican president, you're in trouble," Orr said on Friday.
As recently as six months ago, Orr said, the Trump campaign was talking about how to win "luxury" states like Minnesota, New Hampshire and New Mexico. Now, senior campaign officials are focusing their energy on "survival" states - states Trump needs to get to 270 electoral votes - like Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona, she added.
The latest RealClearPolitics polling average has former Vice President Joe Biden ahead of Trump by 8 percentage points nationally, and up by at least 3 points in all major battleground states.
