Most Americans say they binge-watch to see whole show at once

Most Americans say they binge-watch television shows because they want to see the whole show at once, according to a YouGov survey seen on Hill.TV's "What America's Thinking."

Fifty-nine percent of Americans polled said they binge-watched shows because they wanted to see the whole story at one time, while 48 percent said they did not like waiting.

The binge-watching phenomenon has taken off with the advent of streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu.

YouGov found in a separate poll that Netflix was the second most popular television network, followed by the Discovery Channel.

The streaming services have included shows that originally premiered on cable, as well as their own original series.
