FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM

I'm impressed that both Trump and Queen Elizabeth learned the 'Parent Trap' secret handshake for this occasion!:

Keep in mind about the politics of the visit: Don't expect Trump's visit with the royals to touch controversial, hot-button topics. But those issues will dominate Trump's meetings later in the week.

No better way to pregame your landing:

A little before landing in London, President Trump called London Mayor Sadiq Khan a "stone cold loser." http://bit.ly/2Wlqge6

Trump's full tweet slamming the London mayor: ".@SadiqKhan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly 'nasty' to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me." The full tweets: http://bit.ly/2KtSJXY

Then the mayor of London shot back: "This is much more serious than childish insults which should be beneath the President of the United States," Khan's office said in a statement. "Sadiq is representing the progressive values of London and our country warning that Donald Trump is the most egregious example of a growing far-right threat around the globe, which is putting at risk the basic values that have defined our liberal democracies for more than 70 years." http://bit.ly/2MsCOvN

Rand Paul's (R-Ky.) 'Pennies Plan.' Paul's proposal would balance the budget in roughly five years and cut spending over a decade by more than $11 trillion compared to current spending levels."

Nominations: The Senate is expected to take up a series of nominations, including a vote on Andrew Saul to be a commissioner of the Social Security Administration.
