A man was shot at the University of Washington on Friday during protests against Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, an alt-right leader who was speaking at the school.

Police told KIRO7, the local CBS affiliate, that a 32-year-old man was in critical condition after being shot in the abdomen.

The suspect reportedly turned himself in to police.

Yiannopoulos took to Facebook to alert his followers of the incident, saying his “prayers are with the victim.”

“There was a shooting tonight outside my event at the University of Washington in Seattle, local police have confirmed,” Yiannopoulos wrote.

“A man was taken to hospital with a potentially life-threatening wound to the abdomen. We don't know any more at this time. My prayers are with the victim, whoever he is.”
