Multiple people were shot and killed Sunday, when gunmen opened fire on worshipers at a Quebec City mosque, the Montreal Gazette reports.

Police in Quebec City said shots were fired at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec on Sainte-Foy Street by multiple gunmen who opened fire during evening prayers, according to Reuters.
Police confirmed on Twitter that there were “deaths and injuries” and that a suspect had been arrested.
Witnesses said there were as many as three gunmen, according to the Montreal Gazette. A witness told Reuters that about 40 people were inside the mosque during the shooting.
