Trump, Pence get first presidential intel briefing

President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence have reportedly received their first presidential daily briefing of sensitive national intelligence.

ABC News on Tuesday reported Trump and Pence received the top-secret information — the same version that President Obama gets every day — from career intelligence analysts at New York City’s Trump Tower.

Intelligence officials told ABC the sitting president decides what information the president-elect receives, and Obama decided to grant Trump the full briefing.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said last week Obama sees the daily briefing as a significant step in Trump succeeding him in the Oval Office.

“This is an important part of ensuring the kind of smooth transition that President Obama has prioritized,” he said.
