Omarosa joins Trump’s transition team

Former “Apprentice” contestant Omarosa Manigault is joining Donald Trump’s transition team.

Manigault, who appeared on the first season of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” will serve on the president-elect’s executive committee, the transition team announced Thursday.

She joins more than two dozen Trump loyalists on the committee, which includes a number of lawmakers, senior advisers and incoming White House aides.

The reality TV personality was a top surrogate for Trump on the campaign trail, attending the Republican National Convention in July. She later joined Trump’s campaign, serving as his director of African-American outreach.

In an interview with ABC News’s “20/20” last month, Manigault said she had received threats and caught a lot of “flak” for working with the president-elect.

“I will never forget the people who turned their backs on me when all I was trying to do was help the black community,” she said.
