President Trump’s approval rating is sliding during his first two weeks in the White House, a new poll has found.

A Morning Consult/Politico poll released on Wednesday found that 47 percent of voters approve of Trump’s job performance, down from 49 percent in the same poll the previous week.

Trump’s disapproval rating has also increased from 41 percent to 46 percent.

The poll found more than half of voters— or 55 percent — either approve or strongly approve of Trump’s travel ban.

Along party lines, the poll found 54 percent of independents and 82 percent of Republicans support Trump’s travel ban, while 65 percent of Democrats oppose it.

The poll also found that a majority of registered Democrats do not want their elected officials to work with the president.

Just 34 percent of Democrats say they want Democrats in Congress to find “ways to work with President Trump in order to get things done.”

The poll also found that 56 percent of Democrats believe their elected officials should stick to their principles when working with Trump, “even if that means blocking all legislation or nominees for government posts.”

By comparison, 82 percent of Republicans said Democrats in Congress should find a way to work with the president, and only 9 percent said they believe Democratic lawmakers should stick to their principles, the poll found. Overall, 58 percent of registered voters hope Democrats in Congress will find a way to work with President Trump.

The poll comes as Dems continue to stand their ground against Trump’s Cabinet nominees. After working unsuccessfully to derail Betsy DeVos’s nomination for secretary of Education, Senate Democrats have turned their focus to Sen. Jeff Sessions’s (R-Ala.) nomination for U.S. attorney general.

They planned another all-night debate in protest of Sessions from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning, following the all-night protest of DeVos the day before.

The Morning Consult/Politico poll of 2,070 registered voters was conducted Feb 2–4. The poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
