Mark Cuban on Sunday brushed off President Trump's criticism that the billionaire and Dallas Mavericks owner isn't smart enough to run for president.

"Lol," Cuban tweeted, sharing the president's tweet.

In another tweet, Cuban responded to a user who asked him why the president was "dissing" him all of a sudden.

"I don't know," Cuban tweeted.

"But isn't it better for all of us that he is tweeting rather than trying to govern?" he asked.

Trump went after Cuban on Sunday.

"I know Mark Cuban well," the president tweeted. "He backed me big-time but I wasn't interested in taking all of his calls.He's not smart enough to run for president!"

Cuban, a judge on ABC's "Shark Tank" business competition show, was critical of Trump during his presidential campaign. Cuban backed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton
 
The New York Post published an article Sunday, citing sources close to the White House, who called Cuban the White House's "biggest fear" for a 2020 challenge because he would garner votes from both Republicans and independents.
 
According to the publication, the White House is already looking into Democrats who could challenge Trump in 2020.
