Trump: Did Clinton 'ever apologize for receiving the answers to the debate?'

President Trump on Monday went after his former Democratic rival, Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonThe Memo: Trump faces steep climb to reelection What the Mueller report tells us about Putin, Russia and Trump's election Steve Bullock puts Citizens United decision at center of presidential push MORE, questioning whether she ever said she was sorry for getting "answers" ahead of a Democratic primary debate.

"Did Hillary Clinton ever apologize for receiving the answers to the debate?" the president tweeted.

"Just asking!"
Trump has attacked Clinton multiple times over her team receiving debate questions in advance of a televised town hall event from Democratic operative Donna Brazile. Brazile said last month passing along a list of topics to Clinton's campaign was a "mistake I will never forget."
During a press conference earlier this year, Trump brought up the issue while pushing back against questions from reporters about possible ties between his campaign and Russia.

"Nobody mentions that Hillary received the questions to the debates," Trump said at the time. "Can you imagine — seriously can you imagine if I received the questions? It would be the electric chair, OK?"

The president early Monday also questioned whether "the brother of [Clinton campaign chairman] John Podesta paid big money to get the sanctions on Russia lifted."

"Did Hillary know?" Trump asked.

Trump has in the past raised questions about why the Clintons are not under investigation for various ties to Russia.

He has continued to push back against reports on his campaign's ties to Russia. Last month, he called the "Trump Russia story" a "hoax," and on Sunday he claimed the real story was on "SURVEILLANCE and LEAKING."
